To support production and managerial staff in the day to day running of the business.
The successful candidate would be required to assist in most production related aspects of the day to day running of the business. This could include but not limited to dealing with customers, documenting items for processing, ordering materials and consumables, answering telephone and email enquiries, filing, carrying out quality related tasks and stock taking.
This is very much a ‘hands on’ role and would require some manual handling.
Although no formal qualifications are required candidates would be expected to be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, have good communication skills (both verbal and written), be comfortable talking to customers on the telephone and face to face and be conscientious and well organised.

Colorcote will soon be moving away from the Alocrom 1200 chromate conversion coating it has been successfully applying for many years to a new product called SurTec 650.
SurTec 650v is a concentrated liquid trivalent chromium based chemical which when diluted will form an iridescent blue grey to yellow protective chromate coating of 50 – 500 mg/m² on clean, oxide-free aluminium and aluminium alloy surfaces.
SurTec 650 is not only recognised and approved by Qualicoat but also fulfils the requirements of MIL-DTL-81706-B & MIL-DTL-5541-F. Surtec 650 is widely used in the metal pre-treatment, electronics and aerospace industries due to its low surface resistance and high corrosion protection properties.
The main properties of SurTec 650 are as follows:
hexavalent chromium free passivation for aluminium (trivalent chromium passivation)
meets all RoHS test criteria (IEC1 11/24/CD)
suitable as post-treatment of anodic coatings
suitable as conversion coating of magnesium
liquid concentrate, based on trivalent chromium
excellent bare corrosion protection comparable to hexavalent passivation’s
also works on alloyed and casted aluminium
suitable as pre-treatment before lacquering, powder coating and gluing
approved by GSB and QUALICOAT
produces an iridescent, faintly blue to tan and visible layer
meets or exceeds MIL-DTL-81706B and MIL-DTL-5541F for bare corrosion (336 h in NSS per ASTM B-117, respectively, DIN EN ISO 9227)
low contact resistance: < 5000 μOhm per square inch per MIL-DTL-81706B
heat resistant inorganic passivation layer

Read what Steven Scarlett, partner at Lovewell Blake has to say about family businesses.
Family businesses typically begin with the drive and ambition of a single person – in the case of Colorcote (Norfolk) Ltd it was Steve Baker who had been involved in some of the early powder coatings technology 30 years ago.
The technique of coating materials with fluidized powder and then baking in an oven was providing a better, more permanent, efficient, and environmentally-friendly finish than conventional paint. This process is applied to 90pc of aluminium and steel products used today.
With several years’ experience in the technology, he decided to venture out on his own in 1985 and rented 3,000sq ft of premises on the former Hethel airfield with £20,000 of capital.
As of December 1st 2011 Colorcote Norfolk Ltd. will be making some changes!
Colorcote Norfolk Ltd. will be separating the paint and powder coating departments into two divisions, with the new Colorcote Finishers Ltd. concentrating on specialising in the painting of uPVC and other plastics with a view to expanding this type of business.
All key staff and site location will remain the same so you will continue to enjoy the level of service you have become accustomed to.
